About the Artist

Alyssa Batsakis (she/her) is a performer, artistic director & acting coach, currently based in Cincinnati.

Originally from a small town right outside Cincinnati, raised by a big Greek and Midwestern family, Alyssa relocated to the East Coast for about a decade in the early party of her career. During that time she received her training and education from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theater, with Honors and the highest GPA in her theater school's graduating class.

While studying at UArts and in the early part of her career, Alyssa dipped her toes in whatever artistic endeavors she could - getting a mix of experience on acting, teaching artist and directing contracts. She received additional training with masterclasses and workshops at The London Academy of Dramatic Arts for Shakespeare performance and The Royal Conservatoire in Scotland for Contemporary performance. She performed at prestigious venues such as the off-broadway theatre, Ars Nova in NYC and worked as a teaching artist at well-known companies such as, The Walnut Street Theatre.

During the pandemic, Alyssa moved to the Boston area for a short time and decided to expand her career more on-screen, as well. She took a break from theater contracts and worked on several commercials, film, tv & industrial projects while there, as both an actor and host. She also continued to expand her own virtual acting coaching business.

In the fall of 2022, Alyssa returned to her home city of Cincinnati to continue her career closer to her family. Since moving back, she has continued to work on theater, film and commercial contracts. Alyssa also continues to expand her private acting coaching business, now taking in-person coaching students in the Greater Cincinnati area. She also teaches with a few art outreach programs in town, bringing theatre education to some of the local schools.

Alyssa also recently founded a non-profit arts organization and professional theater in Greater Cincinnati called The Ghostlight Stage Company, where she is now serving as a the CEO and Producing Artistic Director. The Ghostlight believes in accessible, affordable art for all to enjoy, mentoring and fostering young talent, unique community-engaging art experiences and theatrical productions with inclusive storytelling ranging from reinventing old classics for the modern audience to cutting edge new works.
